Undergraduate Research: Within Course Curriculum
Undergraduate research is an important tool within curriculum as it helps students gain skills in critical thinking, problem solving and team communication. Most of my courses include a research component. Some have been class-wide projects where each groups is responsible for one component. Others have been more independent projects. In some courses, the research projects are novel. Some also include a Service Learning component, where we respond to a research need of a community partner, such as the US Fish and Wildlife Service or Three Rivers Park District.
